Ms. Aaltonen assists clients in different issues pertaining to competition law, for example in the telecommunications, forest, pharmaceutical and construction sectors. In addition to assessing a company’s agreements and practices, Anu participates actively in training companies in matters pertaining to competition law, for example with regard to cooperation between competitors. Anu also has extensive experience in issues pertaining to compensation for damages on the basis of violation of competition law.

In addition to competition law, Anu specialises in EU law, particularly in the Internal Market. She has assisted clients extensively in issues pertaining to the freedom of movement of goods and services.

Anu started work at HPP in 2008. She is a graduate of the University of Helsinki, where she specialised in European law and competition law. Anu wrote her thesis on the overlaps of the Communications Market Act and competition regulations, and the problems arising from their simultaneous application.

Anu’s working languages are Finnish and English.

Ms. Joutsimo specialises in competition and EU law. She has extensive experience in different assignments pertaining to competition law and the communications and financial markets sector. Before she was employed by HPP, Maarika worked as a Research Officer, Senior Research Officer and Head of Research at the Finnish Competition Authority, as an EU trainee at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and as an EU-EEA specialist at Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company.

Maarika is a graduate of the University of Helsinki. She started work at HPP in 2005.

Maarika’s working languages are Finnish and English.

Ms. Monto specialises in competition and EU law and intellectual property rights. She has studied EU law at the Université de Robert Schumann in Strasbourg. Before being employed at HPP, Anu’s work involved intellectual property rights. She wrote her master’s thesis on the effects of trade mark rights on transit within the European Union Internal Market.

Anu is a graduate of the University of Helsinki. She started work at HPP in 2011.

Anu’s working languages are Finnish, English, German and French.
